About the Author

Kicking back at the Library of Congress
I am a California native living in the scenic Santa Barbara area. I became interested in genealogy about 27 years ago when a favorite aunt showed me a pedigree chart. Not long after, I began researching at the National Archives, and quickly became hooked on the excitement of finding one's ancestors in the U.S. Census.

Before my daughter came along, I taught 1st grade for a number of years. I still hold a California professional clear teaching credential, but at the moment, I'm kept busy homeschooling my daughter.

My "specialties" include lineage society applications, as well as the use of technology and social media for genealogy.

I am the author of two genealogy blogs: "Little Bytes of Life," and "The Graveyard Rabbit of the California Central Coast."
