My Grandmother was very good about writing names on the back and sometimes date. BUT-- this summer when going through a box of old, old, (mid to late 1800s) portrait photos of individuals and family groupings ---- NO NAMES!!! NO DATES!!! Then we came to one home photo of a bear sitting in the road and on the back it has "Big Black Bear- fall 1931"
We laughed so hard. . . . .
