The knickers and the socks are great, but the expression on the boy's face on the left is priceless. He looks like he's about to be shot.;) Great picture.
Aren't they cute? If I'm not mistaken, the older boy/man in the middle is my husband's grandfather. I believe they are being confirmed in a Slovak Catholic Church in NY. I can't quite make out the ribbons on their jackets, but it looks like the date is June of either 1930 or 1938. Also looks like the writing is in Slovak (which I don't read).
Love the photo! Don't you just know the shoes got polished the night before, their mom shellacked their hair down with whatever was popular at the time, and then threatened them within an inch of their lives if they got dirty or messed up before they went!
